Mitla, Oaxaca, is a fairly large town, growing everyday. Home
of Zapotec Indians, Mitleños were the mathematicians of the Zapotec
people. As you can see, there are several pictures showing the different geometrical
designs in their pyramids. Mitleños also had a column of life, which
predicted how long they were going to live. In other pictures, you will see
that the Catholic church was actually built on top of the pyramid, hmm...
not good, but at least they knew there buildings would last a long time because
of the great architectural foundations that the Mitleños laid. :-)
