Mitla, Oaxaca, is a fairly large town, growing everyday. Home of Zapotec Indians, Mitleños were the mathematicians of the Zapotec people. As you can see, there are several pictures showing the different geometrical designs in their pyramids. Mitleños also had a column of life, which predicted how long they were going to live. In other pictures, you will see that the Catholic church was actually built on top of the pyramid, hmm... not good, but at least they knew there buildings would last a long time because of the great architectural foundations that the Mitleños laid. :-)
